Description

A wonderful, amusing story that plays with the fairy tale tradition... -- Quill & QuireTake one or two or three fairy tale classics; weave them into a wild and wonderful new story: and add a slightly cheeky, thoroughly likable young girl, who is determined not to be a dragon's dinner. The happy ending? What one critic calls a "deliciously disgusting" story that both kids and adults will find very funny and very charming. Graced with bewitching, magically realistic illustrations (children show more will quickly catch the sly visual jokes), Princess Stinky-Toes and the Brave Frog Robert is a bedtime classic. show less

Princess Lunetta is an unfortunate girl whose mother promised her to a witch's dragon as a snack. Fortunately for the Queen, the King, and Princess Lunetta herself, the Brave Frog Robert gives Lunetta the courage and the resources to save herself. This not-so-fairytale is excellent for young readers looking for a fairy-tale like story with a brand new twist. The writing is excellent for young readers and young and old read-aloud-ers and the illustrations are detailed and are full of hidden amusements. Princess Stinky-Toes and the Brave Frog Robert shares a unique story in a familiar damsel in distress setting with new characters, heroes, and a 'clean' ending.
Before she was even born, Princess Lunetta was promised to a witch as a tasty snack for her dragon. As the princess nears her tenth birthday, she decides that she doesn't want to be eaten. But how can she keep the dragon from making her a snack? With the help of the brave frog Robert, and by braving the taunts of others, she finds a way to save her life, her kingdom, a frog-prince and a surprisingly fluffy bunny.

This fairy-tale is unconventional, witty and fun - much like Princess Stinky-toes. The illustrations are large and bright, and the story is full of laughs.
