World's Most Famous Demonologists

This is a compilation of various supernatural experiences experienced by Ed and Lorraine Warren, the husband/wife team of ghost hunters.

It's ok, but I cannot recommend it.

I tend to think the scariest sort of horror books are the ones purportedly true. Ed and Lorraine Warren were long-time paranormal investigators and have included case studies of their investigations along with their theories about what was happening and why. They have handy exorcists on hand to bless and chase away bad spirits, and some of the cases described here would certainly chase one out of one's home. If you read as a skeptic, you probably won't get too far into the book. If you read with an open mind and will to be scared witless, continue on. ( )

Book description
For over forty years, Ed and Lorraine Warren have been helping people to understand, cope with, and overcome terrors from other dimensions. They have dedicated their lives and their extraordinary talents to this fascinating and often frightening cause. In GHOST HUNTERS, some of their most incredible encounters with the supernatural are detailed. The tormented spirit of a cold-blooded killer terrifies officials at West Point. A devout suburban family is driven from their home by demons and shadow people. The awesome psychic powers of a bloodthirsty devil hold an entire village in thrall. An incubus, one of the most feared types of demons, sexually attacks an innocent thirteen-year-old girl. Three vicious criminals who raped and maimed a beautiful housewife are tracked down through the power of a psychic vision. The legendary Sasquatch, beast of the North, brings unspeakable terror to a sleepy rural hamlet . . . All of these incidents occurred. And in all of them, the frightened victims of supernatural horror turned in their desperation to two courageous people who have devoted their lives to freeing people from forces from beyond this earth -- Ed and Lorraine Warren. In this collection of fifteen hair-raising true tales you'll follow Ed and Lorraine along on some of their most astounding encounters with ghosts, demons, possessions, legendary beasts, and grim psychic forces. A frightening and amazing series of otherworldly adventures that will have you sleeping with the lights on. Scarce in hardcover.
