My biggest complaint with this book is that it could have been so much better. The author overused flashbacks that frankly interrupted the real story and, while flushing out the background, weren't usually needed for the overall narrative. The book also tries very hard to be a romance, but also fights tooth and nail against it. Adding a little more spark between to the two primary characters would have made it a far more enjoyable read. Overall, it's worth the time it takes to read even though the writing is sometimes clumsy.
