“All Aboard!” is a picture book written by Mary Lyn Ray and illustrated by Amiko Hirao about a stuffed bunny who takes a train ride with his best friend and comes to life. You get all the sound effects that a train makes. The bunny, Mr. Barnes, describes everything he sees and experiences and the pictures on the page help further describe what he sees.
I really enjoyed “All Aboard!”. The picture illustration is awesome in helping to really visualize the adventure. It is a very easy book to read with the simple sentence structure. Really the only hard thing about this book is the sounds that the train makes.
Classroom extension with “All Aboard!” could be used when studying about trains or even around a holiday where a lot of show more students are going to be traveling. I know that a lot of classes correlate objects with what sounds they make, for example, what sound does a cow make? The answer is “Mooo”. So this book would be great in describing the sounds a train makes show less
