I have read this twice. But only because I found it in my attic and could not remember how it ended the first time. I thought I had not finished it, but when I finished it the second time I knew I had.

That should tell you something!

But its readable enough. A story of struggle against a tyrannical regime. It has some good ideas and interesting moments.
The novel, Basilisk, encompasses a fantasy world. In the beginning, the protagonists, Rej and Donna, both struggle with being different in their communities, and knowing dark secrets they shouldn't know.Throughout the book, they persever by surmounting the many challenges that prevent them from doing the right thing. In the end, though a lot of their loved ones died, the start a new life with each other, and are able to move on. (98/320)
