An excellent book about the rural housewife's way of life in the late Victorian era through the 1930s. The chapters included are: Monday - Washday, Tuesday - Ironing, Wednesday - Mending, Thursday - Churning and Storage, Friday - Cleaning, Saturday - Baking, Sunday - Church & Visiting, Fashions, Family Reunion, The Farm, Home Health & Celebrations. Each chapter includes detailed information on how things were done, what was used, recipes, etc. (the book was intended, in some ways, to be a resource for living history reenactors). Very informative and enjoyable!
