I thought I had this one figured out but she got me. ( ) This is a very good episode in the Jenny Cain mysteries. Lots of abusive husbands are being shot, with never a gun to be found, and the wives under suspicion of murder. There's a new detective in Poor Fred & Geof is ready to quit the force, he's so sickened by all the domestic violence, & there's every chance he might not make the wedding if the homicides aren't cleared up in time. The subject matter made me quite tense but the story is good & Jenny is a good character with the courage of her convictions. I really enjoy the interaction between Jenny & Geof, they're a good couple. no reviews | add a review

Jenny Cain and police detective Geof Bushfield already had pre-nuptial jitters. Then a sudden wave of domestic violence rocked placid Port Frederick - in just two weeks, the husbands of three battered wives were shot dead. Homicide was all too familiar to Geof, but this was enough to make him want to quit the force. Except that none of the wives confessed - and none of the guns were found. As Geof searched for clues, Jenny uncovered a dangerous secret - a murderous obsession that threatened to tear Port Frederick apart! No library descriptions found.
