A quick enjoyable read. I like the character as well. I thought I had this one figured out but she got me. ( )

This is a very good episode in the Jenny Cain mysteries. Lots of abusive husbands are being shot, with never a gun to be found, and the wives under suspicion of murder. There's a new detective in Poor Fred & Geof is ready to quit the force, he's so sickened by all the domestic violence, & there's every chance he might not make the wedding if the homicides aren't cleared up in time. The subject matter made me quite tense but the story is good & Jenny is a good character with the courage of her convictions. I really enjoy the interaction between Jenny & Geof, they're a good couple. ( )
