Summary: Story of a little girl who loves to make things, so for her birthday she gets a present from her Aunt. It is an oragami set , with a oragami butterfly her aunt made on the package she couldnt wait to try to make one herself. She gets a little bit upset because she cant do it at first but shows great determination to continue trying even after failing. Using her creativeness, she finaly paints a picture and gets the courage to try again and this time succeeds. A step by step guide is included in this book on how to make an oragami butterfly.

Personal reaction: Great book to teach on how different countries have different art plus the added lesson of dont ever give up you can do it comes through in this book of bright colors sure show more to grab kids attention.

Extension: Have class do an oragami butterfly for an art project, and could teach a lesson on this being a multi-cultural art from the Japanese.
