Such a cute story! I remember being fascinated by this book in the series in particular because of the cute fairies and the beautifully-illustrated fantasy world (and the humor...) and it was nice to reread it again years later!
A fantastic story about traveling to fantasy worlds and finding a side of yourself you didn't know existed. As a wordless graphic novel, this is accessible to all readers.
Not sure if this any real connection to the actual play by Shakespeare, but it's lots of fun anyway. I am glad I got these at the library though - I don't recommend buying either this sequel or [b:The Boy, the Bear, the Baron, the Bard|1417813|The Boy, the Bear, the Baron, the Bard|Gregory Rogers|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1183432896s/1417813.jpg|1408185].
This is a wordless book telling the story of a bear who has a crazy dream. He ends up making friends with a fairy and breaks into castle and gets arrested. They then escape and go back to the forest.
Use for a variety of grade levels. For younger children, to build visual thinking skills. For older children, creative story-writing. A bear is relaxing in a row boat & hits shore. He wanders through the woods & is chased into a dark cave by bees. Upon exiting the cave, the bear encounters a series of enchanted creatures, as he finds himself in a royal land. The bear must battle a royal thief and his knighted by the king for defeating the thief. Addresses getting lost, magic, nobility, exploration, meeting new people. Use in younger classrooms for visual thinking development and imagination. Use in older classrooms for story-writing and plays. The book is fairly lengthy, so older students could form small groups to write several stories show more to follow the entire book. show less
Midsummer Knight is about a bear who gets lost in the forest and is found by a little flying man. He takes the bear to an enchanted world where the king and knights lock the bear and his new friend in a dungeon. They trick the knights and escape with all of the other prisoners. They battle the knights and the king crowns the bear a knight for his bravery. In the end the bear goes back home.

This book is about the trial that Glen faces to become a Knight. Being related to Count Duncan, it is decided that the criteria for his test be altered so that he may prove he is worthy to be knighted and eventually take over for his grandfather. This book also reveals the infiltration of the Unseelie and the attempts to sabotage the Seelie Court.
