Engaging account of the Loma Prieta earthquake through the eyes of a 14-year-old girl living in Loma Prieta, near Highway 17.
This book is a really sad book. So if you like sad stories this is one that you would like. But if you don't like sad stories this is one that you would not want to read. I would suggest this book because it is a really, really good book. So I would start to read it as soon as possible.
Book talk:
Which is more frightening, being in an earthquake, a flood, or a tornado? Why? What precautions are taken when there is a tornado warning? How are warnings generated? How much time do you have to prepare? What are you supposed to do during a tornado to be safe? What kinds of damages result from tornados? Same questions for floods, earthquakes.
Main character in book must shut off gas lines. Why?
