A few typographical errors aside, this book is pretty good and extremely comprehensive, I just wish it had more proofs and some more examples throughout the text. Most of the proofs are left as exercises without getting covered thoroughly in the book itself.
An introduction that still has all the fundamental equations with detailed derivations and applications. It increases in complexity, but it is a must for all interested students in optics and applications. Cited thousands of times in the scholarly literature.
Amazon reviewers call it the Bible of Photonics, excellent, simply outstanding, completely indispensable, and the best book on the subject. Even Peter Parker uses it in "Spiderman 2."
