Ylana of Callisto

After the Mind Wizards are defeated, a surviving, vengeful Zhu Kor kidnaps jungle maiden Ylana and her lover Tomar, forcing them to flee to the territory of the Cave People, in the savage, creature-filled jungles of Jupiter's moon.

Ylana and Tomar escape, navigating dangerous terrain, battling predators, and escaping a rival tribe. They are caught in a conflict between tribes before being rescued by the airship Galleon of the Clouds. The villainous Zhu Kor is ultimately destroyed, devoured by a plesiosaur, allowing for a happy conclusion for Ylana and Tomar.

Book 7 of the 'Callisto' series continues after Carter's own participation to the tale. The series is starting to flag a little but by this stage it's the longest Carter series ever and unlike some of the others is still readable at this point.
