I really enjoyed this one. It was super short compared to the others in the series, seems to be written as a novella. I like that she encorporated more species into this one and new climate and didn't stick with the stereotypical vampire/human affair. The main characters were likeable, there was enough action to move the storyline along and could easily have had more written.
This was actually a decent installment in the series, and it's an introduction to the South American Ancient brothers. Most of them are jerks, but Riordan is actually a fairly good guy, and this novella was nice. We get to see Jaguar shapeshifters, and Juliette is a refreshing change for a lifemate.

This is Riordan and Juliette's story, and while it doesn't advance the series arc very much, it's a good one to read.
Juliette saves Riordan from a laboratory. He recognizes her as his lifemate and flees with her through the forest, not realizing she's a jaguar shifter. Her and her kind have been hunted by jaguar males, raped and tortured. A lot of hot sex scenes with the usual Carpathian conversion. Nice read, great introduction to the jaguar shifters and seeing strong powerful woman.
I finished the book in like 15 to 20 minutes it is just so short and normal.
and I guess I didn't like it.
Christine Feehan has never been a disappointment with the "Carpathian" series. I recommend these books to anyone.
