This informational picture storybook describes how, why, and what animals move south for the winter or do for the winter. I never knew that a woodchuck can sleep for longer than four months—that is crazy! The book is organized by different animals and describes their habits in the winter. The book seems accurate, as it is part of a series developed by people knowledgeable in the field.
21 months - we enjoyed learning about Animals and how they deal with winter survival. Great illustrations and basic information. We will borrow this one again next year when we talk about winter.
Lovely, vintage illustrations with a simple story about what different animals do in the winter, where they go and about hibernation.
This book is all about what different animals do in order to survive in the winter. This is a good book for elementary students. I liked this book, it had a lot of different information. It would tie well into a science class.
Lovely art accompanies text about how different animals adapt to colder weather.
discusses what the environment does to prepare for winter (bears eat more, tress loose their leaves). provides information along with cute pictures and descriptions of all different types of animals.

This book shows what different animals do during winter. This is a great story to show children to help in their understanding of what animals do during this time of the year. The illustrations are great depictions of what the animals do and need to do to survive during winter. Children will love this book!
