The Journal of Mortifying Moments

This book made me laugh and laugh. A lot of it is cringeworthy - but some is flat out funny. I really enjoyed this book - I liked the characters. I liked the story, I liked the writing.

It is really one of the best light books I have read in a while. The last 1/3 moved a bit slow - but it was still engaging.

I'll tell you what I hated though. I hated the cover of this book. I have know idea what on earth the publisher was thinking. I mean it looks like the trashiest book in the world. (the cover has a photo of a woman in a bikini reaching for her bikini top that has fallen off - which - by the way - doesn't happen in the book).

Did anyone think about the fact that people reading this sort of book dont really want to carry around a book show more half naked picture on the cover? It makes me sad for the author because I think she probably lost a lot of sales because frankly the cover makes the book look like something very different than what it is.

If you can get past the cover and enjoyed books like Bridget Jones - i think you will like this one! show less

I don't usually read chick lit, but I was surprised at how funny this book actually was. It's not great literature, but it is entertaining. If you might be interested in reading chick lit, I recommend it.

This was a book that I came across while trolling the library aisles. My first thought was "Oh another chick lit book...might as well give it a try..." I am so glad I did. This was one of those rare books that made me laugh out loud (to the point of tears and side-pain) while reading. There are so many hilarious situations in this book that I found myself on some level going "Wow, this character has horrible luck and it is so darn funny," and on another level saying, "Pleaseohplease let me never experience this level of embarrassment!"

This was my first "chick lit" book and I simply enjoyed every page of it. It was almost like a really long Gilmore Girls episode, so it was easy for me to become attached to the main character. Wonderful story and I was quite sad that it ended. First book to ever make me laugh out loud!

It wasn't what I expected but in a good way. I felt it was more than just your usual "chick lit" and had a lot of funny moments. I think I enjoyed the journal/reminiscing aspect of the book the most.

With the cover and the summary I thought this book was going to be amazing....it was a bit of a let down. Very cut and dry and not much depth to the novel so I can't really say I enjoyed it but did get through to the end without much exhausting will this novel ever end feeling.

I just finished reading this. A very quick read. Midly amusing. Not as good as the Shopaholic series, but still good.
