This is a great book to teach young readers about all the different forms of water. The author makes the book understandable for all age groups with many different poetry styles. Many of the poems are written in certain shapes to help the reader better understand what is happening. The colors used in the illustrations are bright and bold to keep readers engaged. Overall this is a really fun book to read!
Summary: A children's rhyming book about water, this is. From steam, to ice, to water, and ice cubes. Splish Splash takes the young reader into a sensational world of water, where not only the sights are engaged but so are space and texture. All of the child's senses will be active while reading this awesome book.

Personal Reaction: I loved how the author dives into what water is, so completely, all the while making it understandable for the young mind to easily comprehend the material. Also, this book has some lovely illustrations to keep kids eyes on the prize:)

Classroom Extension: If I was teaching a class of Kindergarteners or younger about water, and how important it is, I would definitely use this book to help me teach it. Also I show more think that this would be a good book to teach older student's about descriptive writing. show less

Personal: loved how this book kept children's senses through the book.

Extension: I would use this book for a lesson about the different types of water.

In this book there were 21 different poems throughout. I think the poems would be meant to read to kids that are fairly young.
I think this book like I already said was meant for little, little, kids just by the wording and the pictures in the book.In come of the poems they are concrete poems which is good ideas. So I would recommend this book to younger kids.
