Lots of fun detail in the pictures for 'rereads.' What child hasn't dreamed of flying? This child even imagines a clever magical mechanism to make it seem plausible. The reaction of the townspeople brought to my mind the tale of The Gingerbread Man.
This book is a clear representation of any and every child's biggest dream, which is to fly. I think every child at one point, wishes to fly, and even goes to such lengths as to attempt by jumping off of furniture and flapping their arms in the air. I love that this book shows that spirit of children, and their beautiful faith in anything being possible. This is a cute, humorous read for a young audience!
A classic story of a little girls imagination taking flight, quite literally. She wants to fly so bad she trys and trys again until she succeeds and has most of the town chasing after her trying to get her down.
