Fred and Anthony would much rather goof off and watch horror movies, and pay others to do their homework and chores. They decide that helping old people find their teeth and get coffee will help with their cash flow. They end up trapped in an old lady’s haunted house and plunge into the Netherworld through the guest powder room and they meet Dr. Frankenstein. He’s intent on extracting their brains but they are rescued by a nice guy in corduroys and a work shirt...who turns out to be a werewolf. They flee the werewolf only to run into Dracula (actually the clerk at their video store). The rampant goofiness, sarcasm and gross stuff (“The Evil Clown Coming Out of a Coffin Filled with Eyeballs and Cat Barf”) will appeal to Captain Underpants fans.

Perfect for the Captain Underpants crowd, this humerous book about 10 year old Fred and his friend Anthony has alot of graphics, not too much text and fast pacing.

Fred and Anthony, who like nothing better than to watch monster movies and eat Pez and
Chex mix, have a school project looming on Monday. So they decide to pay someone to build it, but they are unfortunately out of funds. So off they go to earn some (with as little work as possible). But, the whole neighborhood knows of their scheme so they have to travel ever farther to find someone to hire them.

That is how they end up in the haunted house with the door to the Netherworld. Will they ever survive mad scientists, ghosts, monsters, blood and guts? Will they have to do their school project? ( )
