Description

Takes us through the labyrinth of one woman's desperate attempts at communication, as the bizarre world around her closes itself off. Opens in a seemingly ordinary Moroccan bar, where Lotte sits eavesdropping on two drinkers nearby, her thoughts drifting into a thick mesh of confusion in which she is back home in Germany. In successive scenes, Lotte, so lonely that she will divulge any personal secret, make exhausting and often hilarious efforts at friendship - forcing herself on strangers, show more giving gifts to her husband's lover, pursuing relationships long atrophied. Chip by chip, words and meaning disconnect; dialogue dwindles to monologue. show less
