Description

Jake Entwhistle is smart and handsome, but he lives with the shadow of his deceased girlfriend, who died on 9/11. Janet is a bright, witty aide to the governor of Massachusetts who suffers from cystic fibrosis, an illness that makes her, as she puts it, "not exactly a good long-term investment." After meeting by accident late one night, they begin a love affair filled with humor, startling intimacy, and a deep abiding connection.--From book jacket.

Jake Entwhistle is recovering from the tragic loss of his girlfriend on 9/11. Janet Rossi is an aide to the governor who has serious health problems that will probably kill her sooner rather than later. They meet and fall for each other, and what follows is a beautiful story of two people who are truly in love but who seem to have no future. The storyline sounds depressing, but it is masterfully written with laugh-out-loud moments and real-life moments and excellent character development. Loved it!

This was a pick for a book club. It was an interesting story, nice to see it from a man's point of view. Learned a lot about cystic fibrosis and :SPOILER: After hearing the author's discussion about the book, he explained that the end of the book is in the beginning before the story begins. I liked that twist in the book

A guy whose wife just died falls in love with a woman with cistic fibrosis. Moderately good, but too much coughing and mucous descriptions.

Worth reading, but not as good as Some of his others. I did learn a lot about Cistic Fibrosis!
A story of a man who falls in love with a woman who has cystic fibrosis. his mother has dementia and his former girlfriend died on 9/11. It was a bout loving someone whom you realize may soon die.
