A book about baby sharks and the different ways they are born-some lay eggs, others have live births. This book is full of pictures of sharks and their eggs and gives information about the sharks in the pictures. I used to love sharks when I was younger--actually I was obsessed--and saw this book and had to read it. I also used it for my child study where my buddy and I looked at the pictures, formulated questions and then looked through the text to find the answers. Another way this book could be used in the classroom would be to have it available to students for information to incorporate in book reports.

This book is about baby sharks and their birth into the ocean. Baby sharks can be born many different ways; including, sacs attached to rock and coral to live births out of their mother. It tells of the importance of growth and size for a baby shark to grow into an adult. This book has lots of different pictures of sharks in different stages of growth in utero and in pods. I thought it was informative but for an older group of kids to read and understand.
This book would be useful in a lesson on animal reproduction or adaptation. It would show the mechanisms sharks have adapted over the centuries to have the optimum chance of survival and continuing their species.
