A very short alphabet book, with each letter illustrated by an adjective-noun pair. The animals get a little weird at the end of the book (xylo xylophoning? Uglybird being ugly?), but that's only to be expected.
Fun illustrations, like all of Boynton's books. While not as delightful as some other Boynton books, this is in the top third of alphabet books, by my ranking: each animal is drawn doing some alliterative action and with the appropriate first letter -- "hippo hiding". Very simple, gets the point across, and some humor.
I love Sandra Boynton's animal kingdom. Here she showcases 25 of her favourite animals with (almost) every letter of the alphabet. Notice that there are 26 letters in the alphabet, but there are only 25 animals. I won't say more, but I don't want to spoil the gentle surprise. Sandra's funny animals will entertain parents and children alike. A perfect book to get one's child started on their A,B,C's. Heck, I already know my A,B,C's - and I read it anyway. I'll bet that you and your kids will, too.

A nice little alphabet book. Not the traditional A is for apple, there is a verb + animal for each letter. Mx really liked this one.
A to Z and In Between by Sandra Boynton is full of Boynton’s classic animal illustrations and creative imagination, such as “Xylo Xylophoning” and “Uglybirds being Ugly”. Not my favorite Boynton book, but a cute one all the same.
An interesting alphabet of animals, each with an action word. "K Kangaroos Kissing," and so on. Some of the creatures are very obscure, like Uglybird and Xenosaurus, which is the usual trouble with this format of alphabet book. Not bad for toddlers and preschoolers who will like the simple clear and cheerful pictures. But we also like alphabet books with more words and more details in the artwork for each letter. It's good to have a wide variety for preschoolers and kindergarteners.
