This romance, set on a Nevada ranch called Valley of the Sun where a hard-working woman is struggling to keep the dream of a new well alive during the worst drought in years. Enter Rio, a half-Indian hydrologist whose true name is Brother-to-the-wind. Hope and Rio try to keep from loving each other, but because this is a romance novel, we all know they're not going to succeed. With all the talk of water, though, this book will definitely make you thirsty.
Hope Gardener's love for her drought-stricken Nevada ranch runs deep, but if she doesn't find someone who can drill deep enough to locate water soon, her ranch is going to fail. Past experience has left her unwilling to dream, but when a man named Rio appears and offers her hope, she throws her heart into believing in him.
Rio's life is following the wind - that he won't stay is no secret, but Hope's love and trust is the most precious thing he's ever known.
This is an oldie and very predictable, but it's great for a curl-up on the couch on a rainy day.

The story of Hope and her dream to keep her family farm alive, her quest to bring water to the ranch, and the man (Rio) who brings water and so much more. A good story, but more of a love story and not much else.
Elizabeth Lowell is a good romance writer. I am trying to read all of her books as she is new to me. Ranch stories are interesting and this one is no exception.
