This is a good first introduction to the religion of Islam. In the story we are introduced to a boy named Ahmet who lives in Detroit, Michigan. We see what it means to be a Muslim through his eyes. He tells us in simple terms how he lives his life as a Muslim. We learn about Ramadan, the Qur'an, the Hajj, Islamic law, what a Mosque is and the five pillars of the Hajj.
The book has pictures that help explain the text. There is a glossary at the end of the book along with an index. I like the fact that the difficult words are in bold and also show you how to pronounce them.
