Book by the author of Baba: A Return to China on my Father's Shoulders. In this book the author tells the story of her father growing up in China during the KMT/Communist conflict and his eventual relocation to Taiwan. Tells the story of how her parents met and eventually ended up in the states. The author has a way with words that really paints pictures. I enjoy reading her books for the visual pictures I walk away with. Also, the authors art graces the pages like in Baba. Worth a read, but check it out of the library before you decide to buy. It is a good story, but it is like so many others from this time frame.
