From wake-up hugs to good-night hugs, this counting book chronicles all the hugs a baby and her mother share throughout one day. With minimal text and illustrations full of action, bright colors and vivid prints, this book will appeal primarily to very young children. These children will especially enjoy the familiar daily routine and the loving relationship depicted between mother and baby. While the counting premise is easily lost amidst the active storyline and the bold illustrations, the appeal of the latter still makes this an engaging story. Recommended for children newborn through age three.
This book is a cute portrayal of a mother's never ending love. The numbering of the hugs is a very nice way of showing the different sparks throughout the day that light up a mother's world. Great illustrations.
My mama started reading this to me when I was just a tiny baby. It became my instant favorite, and for my first year of life, this was the book I requested the most. My mama always said the first line of this book to me every morning, and I liked that a lot! I have always liked to see what the dog is doing on each page.
another great early reader, very young picture book for children. Does anything make counting more fun then reading about a mommies love and feeling her hugs. If this book doesn't lead to some hugging nothing will.
This book was really young. I wouldn't read it to a class at school. But it was cute and I would think about reading it to my children when they are really really little.
