I am from California and went to Kit Carson Elementary and always wanted to know who he was. This book taught me a little about who Kit Carson was and what he did.
This book follows along on Kit Carson's journey on the Santa Fe Trail, which eventually makes him famous. Although he had many negative experiences (fleas, storms, fires), he still managed to persevere through. The end of the trail was just the beginning for this mountain man..
