Description

When Albert Einstein was a young man, his wife-to-be gave birth to a daughter, Lieserl, whom they gave up for adoption. Anna McGrail imagines this life for Lieserl, whose sole desire is to beat her father at his own game - to teach him that his actions have consequences that cannot be denied.

A vividly imagined journey through a bitter life that might have been. A story of how people sacrifice love for visions, both good and bad. An all too human trip which explains why sometimes, despite our brains and the signs on the road, we fail to redeem ourselves - until it is, perhaps, too late. Written in a wonderfully (and deceptively) simple language I found myself falling for our anti-heroine. Lovely book.
