Description
Immortal Darkyn Lord Valentin Jaus and landscape artist Liling Harper are brought together by fate and bound together by passion. They find solace in each other's arms, but the ties that bind them are deeper--and more dangerous--than either of them can possibly imagine.Tags

Sword arm paralyzed, Darkyn Valentin Jaus is still mourning the loss of Jema Shaw when he encounters the young woman who tends the flowers at one of his properties. Concerned at first about her motives, he's charmed and strangely attracted. For Liling Harper flowers are a passion, and she finds herself fantasizing about the sad-eyed man who always smells of camellias. When the Brethren come hunting, Valentin at first assumes himself to be the target, but is he?
Wow... steamy. Viehl seems to have found her inner Harlequin romance, because there are definitely some graphic scenes in there. Not terribly well worked in, either. By far my least favorite of hers so far - too bad. Valentin deserved a better story.

2.5- To be fair I jumped into the middle of this series. I had issues with the way this way written, 1) the female character keep going into her head, where there were all these rooms with stained glass and doors ? I could not tell when she was with us or not. 2) she jumped into lust/bed with our uber sexy alpha male, first chance, no build up at all3) I did not care for the dominating part, it felt belittling 4) he would slip into these rooms ? with her or not it was hard to tell... i was confused 5) He fell for her too easy, he was supposed to be damaged from a lost love, too easy 6) the actual story what little there was was so weak, it was almost a side note.
Well I could go on, I just did not like the book, not my style of reading show more material. show less

this is the first book I have read from Lynn Viehl, the book was just ok, was not sure I wanted to try another from the Darkyn books but started reading Stay the Night anyway and it seems much more interesting then Twilight.
So far this is definitely one of my favorite Darkyn books. I do have a question.. what are the exact rules to strip monopoly?
In a strange way, I'm glad there's only one more book in this series. I don't think I can take much more of the tension...
