Description

It's a lousy first day on the job for Nina Blackman. A patient, loopy from the anesthesia, bites her. At least he was cute. The next morning, Nina wakes up with a set of razor-sharp fangs, bionic vision, supersonic hearing, and a taste for blood. But there's a good explanation: it's her patient, Long Island vampire Greg Statleon. Is Nina willing to commit to one man for eternity, even if they are perfect for each other?

Original Review 2010:

What I Loved: Nina, Nina, Nina! She is my favorite foul-mouthed, say it like it is character. She really is someone who just doesn't accept something till you whack her over the head with facts. Normally these characters get on my nerves but Nina is so well written that about the time you get to the "ugh shut up" point, she grows on you. Oh and I love Greg too! He was the perfect HEA for her :)

What I Liked: Wanda, Marty, Lou, and Svetlanna! What can I say, I think it is the friendship, family, and love that really gel these books together. You show more can just tell how much Wanda, Marty, and Nina really care for each other. Even when they are uber-mad at each other.

What was So-So/Didn't Like: Not a darn thing!

Who I would recommend this too: I would recommend this to anyone who likes to laugh. However, if you are sensitive to bad language probably not the book for you. Kind of like Christopher Moore books---you have to like the "off-beat" humor and not give a flip about language to enjoy. If you do however give these books a chance, I guarantee your cheeks will hurt from grinning. They are fantastic :)

New Thoughts 2014:

Overall Thoughts: This was even better the 2nd time around. I forgot how much I loved Nina and Greg's love story. It made me laugh, cry, and wish I knew Nina person :)

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated By Meredith Mitchell / Length: 10 hrs and 35 mins

Meredith grew on me as a narrator and now I really like her. She seemed a lot more comfortable in this one and even though Nina is still not "Jersey" enough, I still enjoyed the narration :)

Final Thought: Can't wait to revisit the next one again :)

Nina Blackmon’s first day on the job bites. Literally. She was accidentally bitten on the hand by a vampire and wakes up the next night with fangs and a sudden craving to eat her hamster Jim.

Set on getting turned back into a human, Nina enlists the help of her friends Marty and Wanda to track down the patient who did this. When she finds the hottie-vampire, Greg Statleon, in his Long Island castle he tells her that there is no going back. She’s stuck for as a vampire forever.

What Nina also finds out is that in just a few days Greg either has to mate, tying him to one woman for eternity or turn to dust on his 500th birthday. Just when Nina convinces herself she’s the one for Greg, his sire Lisanne enters the picture to ensure the show more mating doesn’t happen.

I enjoyed Accidentally Dead more than the first book in the series, The Accidental Werewolf (my review). It had a quicker pace and I just loved Nina’s snarkiness. The set up and story line was still a little kooky even for a paranormal but Cassidy throws in a lot of humor to make up for it. I recommend this for those who love the “light paranormals” and look forward to the release of The Accidental Human next month to finish off the series.

Not a big fan of Dakota Cassidy's writing style - a little too vulgar and "in your face" for my preference. However, if you can ignore the unnecessary f-bombs and the various anatomical references, the story itself is entertaining. Actually liked this one better than the first book in the series, Accidental Werewolf.
Dakota Cassidy is back with the 2nd book in her 'Accidentally' series, "Accidentally Dead". The same three heroines from her first book "The Accidental Werewolf" are back and this time it's nasty-tempered Nina's turn. After deciding selling makeup just wasn't her thing, Nina went to school and became a dental hygenist. Her first day on the job, one of the patients has a bad reaction to the anesthetic and BITES her. Two days later she wakes up with some wickedly long fangs! What to do, what to do? She calls her recently werewolfed friend, Marty, because, HEY, werewolves and vampires...close enough. So Marty, Nina, and Wanda (the only normal one left) decide to beard the vampire in his lair...er, something like that and off they go.

Greg show more is disgusted with himself. He's the head of a vampire clan that were all turned against their will so he doesn't believe in turning others. When he finds out he accidentally turned Nina, he tries to make amends. Too bad she the nastiest, most potty-mouthed woman he's ever met who has no intention of accepting her new life. All she wants to talk about is becoming mortal again. If there was a way, he would tell her just to get her and her bad humor off his back!

There is a ton of humor in this story. Nina is over-the-top *itchy! She's also very attracted to Greg, only she calls him Fangman, Batman, and an assortment of other not so nice nicknames. Greg's fed up! It's not like he can go back and change it. If only she didn't turn him on so much! The battle is on and it's a beaut. Dakota Cassidy has a way with humor in her stories and the sex scenes are equisite...and way hot! Her characters take the time to get to know one another and learn to trust each other, and they're going to need that once Greg let's go of the last secret he 'forgot' to tell Nina.

I very much enjoyed reading Ms Cassidy's latest and am really looking forward to see what kind of trouble Wanda manages to get into when her book "The Accidental Human" comes out in March 2009!

Following the highly humorous Accidental Werewolf, Dakota Cassidy brings us back to the color circle of Marty, Wanda, and Nina for another fun romp. Nina starts a new job as a dental hygenist. How could she know that the patient would have a vicious reaction to the numbing agent? The patient bites her, and she doesn't think much more about it until later. Later, as in the next evening when she finds she slept the day away, missed work, and woke up with fangs! Determined to get her humanity back, she gets her friends involved in her quest. Full of humor and likeable characters, you're sure to like this light paranormal read, if you can get past the vulgar language. I'm looking forward to reading Wanda's story next !
Dakota's style in this book is much as the same as the The Accidental Werewolf. But this one is from the POV of Nina. Potty-mouth, bad ass Nina Blackman. After calling Marty and Wanda to discuss her problem, she is bound and determined that there has to be some type of immortality reversal of some sort. Perhaps the internet and books about vampires weren't completely wrong when it came to these things, but they weren't exactly right either and she soon comes to realize that.

Nina finds herself so attracted to Greg that she can't stand it. It makes her crazy, but yet turns her on soooooo much. Maybe being a vampire won't be that bad. Following Nina around in her quest to gain back her 'life', she and Greg bicker back and forth, but yet it show more seems that it gets her nowhere. Towards the middle of the story, when something happens to her Grandmother Lou, she starts to see the big picture and realizes what Greg has been telling her.

Marty and Wanda are right there for her, through all her crazy escapades and listening to her whine! Being the friends that they are, they try to console her. But everyone is always looking for their HEA (happily ever after) and perhaps Nina will find hers to!

This book was just as good as the first in this series and I can't wait to read The Accidental Human, which is due out in 2009! :) Dakota and her sharp teeth are ready to naw at your heart as you read. The writing is fun and snarky with enough humor to make you laugh! Wonderful read!
But if you haven't read The Accidental Werewolf, go get it, NOW!!!! Don't miss out on this funny series! :)

Disliked the female protagonist for most of the book. She had a sad backstory which was revealed later in the book but for most of it, she was obnoxious and struck me as TSTL.
