Wow, that was intense!
After reading the first book in the series, I adored Pierre. So a book about Pierre and his wife? Sign me up! I instantly loved Marie. She's such a realistic character and I found myself relating to her a lot. Pierre, of course, was fabulous. He's just so sweet, and protective, and caring, and he's French! What's not to like? I also loved hearing more from George. Him and Pierre are a dynamic duo.
I also liked Andre and Lisa's storyline. I almost wished they had their own book.
The plot was fast paced, and kept you hopping, for the most part. There were a few parts were things seemed to get a little redundant, but for the most part it kept my interest. Lots of unexpected twists and turns!
All in all, I really show more enjoyed this!
CONTENT NOTE: Recommended for ages 16 for mature themes.Marie is kidnapped several times, a character is murdered - not described in detail. Also some clean romance. show less

As soon as I began reading, I knew I was in for a treat. This exciting suspense novel kept me turning pages long after my tired eyes screamed for me to stop. I completed the 400-page novel in two days! I resented the need for sleep!
The dialogue is done so well. The French chef's syntax is "spot on."
This is the second in the series. It can be read it without reading the first one, Frasier Island and is a stand-alone novel. However, the beauty of reading a series in order is that the characters are already known. I loved Pierre before I opened the book, and I had heard about Marie, who is his perfect match. I can't wait for the third Inside Story. Buy a copy, but be prepared to lose some sleep!

If you have read Frasier Island then you can't miss this story. In this tale, Pierre and Marie are married and living in Tokyo. Pierre is due for a 30 day leave but decides to send Marie ahead by a couple weeks. He puts her on the plane and she sits next to the wife of one of them men Pierre works with. When they get to San Francisco she sees the woman she sat next to on the plane murdered. She runs with her bag and finds that she has several cruel looking men looking for her. When she trys to find her cell phone she finds that it was stolen and instead she finds a flash drive. Not knowing much about computers, she's not sure if it's important but she figures that must be why they killed the woman she sat next to.
She manages to board show more her next flight and on that plane she meets a woman who happens to sell casual wear items. Marie buys a few items to use as a disguise. When she deplanes she sees the men who were following her in San Francisco. She leaves the airport then and the chase is on. She is able to call her husband a few times but the bad guys always seem to be close at hand.
Pierre is sent home by his boss and enlists the help of his best friend George Hudson to find Marie. They always seem to be one step behind the bad guys who are one step behind Marie.
This is a fast paced story where something is always happening right up to the nail-bitting ending. As a sideline there is a romance that blooms between Pierre's brother, Andre and Marie's sister, Lisa. It's also nice to see into George and Rachel's lives once more.
