Hideous murders disrupt the peace talking between Egypt and the newly conquered Mitanni tribe. Queen Pharoah Hatusu asks her Chief Judge Amerotke to investigate the deaths before the superstitious Egyptian kingdom sees this as a sign from the gods that her rule is not divine.
Amerotke investigates the murder with several interuptions of other cases. The other cases prove to be as interesting it not more prudent than the Pharoah's case. ( )
