I'm really struggling with reading this series. This is the first (meaning this series) of [author: Wanda Brunstetter] for me to read and I'm just not sure what I think. I have read various authors of Amish Christian Fiction over the years, as well as many history books of the Amish dealing with my quilting addiction. I have never heard before of the Amish so often going to a Dentist, or Chiropractor, sure I've heard of them seeing a Doctor or going to the hospital under extreme circumstances, but it is very strange to hear of various Amish persons continually seeing a Chiropractor. This book picks up just a few weeks after the first one ends, and I really would like to say that there are more smiles and rose blossoms in reading the show more book of Job than there is in this book. I just do not understand how so much strife can continue one thing after another. I'm ready for some happiness! Geez, these books are depressing me. But, I refuse to just quit the author or the series, because surely as much strife is shown to be as possible there must be such happiness to compare. Because I know that as much as the Lord is one for taking, He also giveth! show less

I absolutely loved this 2nd book in the series just as much as the first. It is a very easy read. The Hostetters are an amish family living in ohio with their their 3 daughters. There have been attacks on the their family with no known culprit. The story just flows and shows the strength the family has after the attacks are their family. This book in particular is about Ruth , the secons daughter, and the hard ache and loss that she goes through.

The saga of the Hostettler family continues in book two of the Sister's of Holmes County series by Wanda Brunstetter.
A Sister's Test follows Grace's sister, Ruth and her desire to marry and have a house full of children. That seems an impossible task since her break-up with Luke, a troubled young Amish man. But when Ruth meets Martin a courtship begins and couple quickly decides to wed.
Meanwhile, someone is still out to get the Hostettler family, destroying their garden, smashing their mailbox, and leaving a note saying, "I’m not done with you yet."
When Martin is involved in a buggy accident and Ruth's father is injured trying to round up the horses someone intentionally let out of the barn, Ruth's world seems to crumble.
Will she have show more enough faith to continue or will she leave Holmes County and go out into the world?

This was book number 2 in this series. Again, the attacks on this family continued and the person responsible was not identified. Tlhis book dealt with sister number 2 (Ruth). She was married only two months when someone in a truck ran her and her husband in their buggy off the road. Her husband was killed. She went into a deep depression for several months. Finally she went to work for a neighbor who had 5 children. He needed help as his wife had died . Not only did she help the children but she was helped by being around them.
Again, the ending left you up in the air as to who the killer was. Oher than that, this was a good book and dealt with several issues.
