Carla grew up in Crosby, Minnesota She lived in Alaska for forty years, in both Anchorage and Fairbanks and graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She spend most of her career working in Alaska's oil and gas industry. Carla is married to Don Williams and has a son, Shane.
