Dedication
This book is for:

my husband, Edward, who, with his quiet support, makes mine the best of all possible worlds;

my editor, Ginjer Buchanan, who thought of me at the right time;

Tony and Luke Perkins, and A... (show all)nthony, Theresa, and Sharri Everett - for whom I wish a better world;

Gil, in memoriam, the very best of cats;

And Amanda and Duncan, with sorrow and regret.
This in no way atones, but it's yours nonetheless.

Patience had never been one of Devon Adair's strong suits.
Last words
(Click to show. Warning: May contain spoilers.)What began as a smirk bloomed into a full smile, an unfriendly smile full of bad intent as the stranger raised his hand and rubbed softly at the small symbol - the same stylized "E2" which had appeared to Devon in the dirt of the Terrian caves - tattooed onto his neck.
