BISCUIT AND THE LITTLE PUP is a cute book at the Kindergarten Reading Level.

The story, in my opinion, isn't one of the best, but Biscuit lovers will no doubt like reading it through once or twice, or multiple times as it features another cute little pup. What makes this book a little less exciting than the author's usual productions is that the 'drama' mainly consists of the other puppies not wanting to play.

This book is at Lexile: 80L and it has 152 words; in a large font. Here's some text from two pages:

Come out, little pup.
What is your name?
Woof, woof!

Come out, little pup.
Biscuit wants to play!
Woof, woof!

THis is a great book to use when frist learning to read. It is a sweet little story about dogs. Every young child loves puppies and they will love this animated story about Biscuit trying to get little puppy to come out and play. It is simple enough fro every child to read a long.
Little children will love the cover that shows a dog and then a little puppy. Many children love animals. The content is simple for children who are first learning to read, with most of the words repeating themselves including barking sounds. This would be a good book to share with young children and then place it in the classroom library where they can read it by themselves at a later time.
