Where’s My Teddy? is the adorable tale of a little boy named Eddie who loses his teddy bear in the woods. When he goes back, looking for it, he instead finds a huge teddy. While trying to figure out how his teddy grew so big, he hears crying and encounters a real bear who’s upset that his teddy shrank to a tiny size. The two are scared to death of each other but all’s well that ends well, when they both get their own beloved teddies back. This was a cute, hilarious story that was really fun to read. The illustrations are great, too, really bringing to life the humor of the situation. As a relatively new grandma, I’m always on the lookout for books that I can share with my grandkids. I think this is a story that should delight show more them as well as all young readers. It’s the first in a series about these two characters called Eddy and the Bear, and after this enjoyable reading experience, I’m definitely going to be on the lookout for the other books in the series. show less
Eddie is missing his Teddy in this rhyming picture-book from British author/illustrator Jez Alborough. Searching for him in the woods, he gets quite a surprise, upon finding a massively over-sized stuffed bear. Has Teddy grown? Has he, Eddie, shrunk? This shock is nothing compared to his reaction when an actual bear, holding a tiny teddy, appears. It would seem that boy and bear have each found the wrong toy...

Originally published in 1992, Where's My Teddy? is the first of three picture-books featuring Eddie and his ursine counterpart, and was reissued this past year (2017) in this 25th Anniversary Edition. The story is engaging - what will happen next?! - while the rhyming text makes for an excellent read-aloud. The colorful artwork, show more done in watercolor, crayon and pencil, is bright and appealing, ably capturing the emotional state of both Eddie and the Bear, and the humor of their brief meeting. Recommended to anyone looking for fun picture-books in rhyme, or children's stories about teddy bears. show less
This is a rhyming story about a little boy who goes to find his lost teddy. Eddie (the little boy) finds a big teddy in the woods and thinks to himself this is not my teddy its to big. Then along comes a big brown bear who also lost his teddy. The big bear found Eddies teddy and Eddie found the bears teddy. The illustrations in this book are water color. They aren't as elaborate as some stories but are still fun to look at. This is a fun easy book to read to your children. It features the rhyming characteristic and I think that grabs children's attention and keeps them entertained.
Rhyming text and visual contrasts of the huge bears and the little boy and his small teddy make this a fun storytime read.
This GIANT read aloud book is about a boy who lost his teddy bear in the woods. While looking for him, he finds a giant version of his teddy bear, and is so confused. Then, he runs into a giant brown bear, who also lost his teddy bear. He stumbled across Eddie's little teddy bear and was confused too. The boy and the bear see each other, and scream! The collect their persona teddy bears and run home to the comfort of their beds.

I liked this book because of the rhyming and the flowing language. I also though that the illustrations were so wonderful and detailed, it really added to the vastness of the woods and the intimidation that Eddie and the bear felt when they saw each other. I think young kindergartners would really enjoy this show more book. It would be a great book to read when teaching about the concept of rhyming. show less
"Where's My Teddy?" was a childhood favorite of mine. The story is about a boy named Eddy in search for his lost teddy bear, named Freddy, and the events that follow the finding of a gigantic teddy bear. The rhyming pattern makes the book a fun read and the twist of who the big teddy bear belongs to is a fun surprise.
This book follows the adventure of a child on a mission to find his Teddy when it goes missing. His search leads him to the forest where he finds a giant Teddy! Soon the child realizes that this Teddy belongs to a bear, and that bear has his Teddy! After exchanging Teddy's both the bear and the child run in opposite directions to the safety of their beds. This book is too cute and is a fun read-aloud.
