Secret Harmonies

Although billed as in the same sequence as "400 Billion Stars" I found little or nothing to connect it to that book, either concretely or thematically. On a colony on a planet around Tau Ceti, an expected ship from Earth never shows up, spurring on a war between a main city settlement and outlying settlements. It's hard to keep track of narrative threads at times, it picks up a bit once an AI gets revealed and involved, but for me, the ending landed with a thud. Not a good thud, a bad one.
