Description

"Raymond's had a rough couple of days. Snatched from his allotment by a flying starfish from Uranus and sold as a delicacy in a Venusian food market, it seems like his luck has changed when he is rescued by the travelling circus. But then this isn't an ordinary circus."

The fate of the planet is in the hands of Raymond, as he is abducted by aliens from Venus who try to sell him as a foreign delicacy at their food auction in space. He's not exactly the heroic type, but he does take up the fight against the people from the planet that surrounds Earth. Yes, another planet that covers our own, not exactly agreeing with physics, but this is Robert Rankin, and the story is quite fun, and definitely far fetched.

There is another story in this book that evolves around Raymond's friend Simon, who is also trying to save Earth, but from aliens on this planet. I do love Rankin's older books where two or more plots twist and turn around each other and occasionally intersect each other in the funniest ways. This is a show more fun one, but you have to pay attention! show less
