In The Antique Store Cat, Alice is a sneaky feline who wants out and does not respond to the word “No” something with which I am extremely familiar, as a cat owner. Alice gets out and goes on an adventure, but it begins to rain, so she takes shelter in an antique store. She is treated kindly by the shopkeeper, but soon breaks a statue that a patron is trying to sell. She does this by chasing the patron’s pet parrot. Instead of getting into trouble, she is the heroine, because it is her mishap that leads to the discovery of the statue being a fake. She is soon rescued by her owner, Annie, and goes home.
A cat takes up residence in an antique store without, alas, hilarious consequences.
