Dark-haired and distinguished, Michael Eagan caught everyone's eye, but none more so than Flanna McKenna. Even Flanna's parents couldn't resist playing matchmaker, desiring nothing more than a son-in-law to continue their heritage. But Michael was really an investigator out to catch a thief, in her life by design. Yet the fire he ignited in Flanna led her to accept his proposition of a mock marriage. A story of ancient jewellery and murder is the backdrop to this story of fated romance. Entertaining, and a light read despite the dark undertones. Plenty of twists and action, but it simply didn't grab me as much as the previous part in the series.
I received my copy through NetGalley. My review is my honest opinion.

As always, thanks to my critique group—Sherrill, Cheryl, Rosemary and Jude—and to Rebecca/Ruth for their continuing support. And to Marc for the pawnshop idea.
First words
Prologue:
The mists off the Shannon estuary rose around the towers and turrets of Rafferty Manor, wreathing them with a wet silver cloak, perfect cover for the thief to get inside without being seen by prying eyes.
