Summary:The story The Chestnut Pudding is a folktale from the Iroquois Indian tribe about a little boy who takes his grandmothers magical chestnut shavings that turns into pudding. The pudding is the only food the grandmother can eat so the small boy must go on a dangerous journey to replace his grandmothers pudding. The boy encounters monsters and witches on his journey, but does not get scared and in the ed is able to out smart them all.
Personal Reaction: I enjoyed this story of the Chestnut Pudding, it is a story of making mistakes and doing what is right in the end. A good message that still holds true today.
Classroom Extension: 1) This story would be a good discussion starter about morals and being respectful of others property. show more 2) Have a science project to show how and why mixing a solid and a liquid forms a compound. Bring in flour and show how to make dough. show less
