Description

You never forget your first time.

Cameron Lewis loves his job as an instructor/trainer for a water safety firm that inspects water parks. He gets to travel from March through September, always moving on to something different. When a strange emptiness starts plaguing him, he chalks it up to turning thirty.

He manages to shake off the feeling—until he walks into a classroom and discovers that the eye candy in the front row is actually a very grown up version of his best-friend's kid show more brother.

Noah Winthrop never forgot his first time. Scary, painful and then absolutely amazing—and with Cameron, the guy he'd always wanted. He's had a crush on his brother's best friend since puberty and now nothing will keep him from finally getting Cameron Lewis to notice him.

Even though Cameron once rejected him, Noah is determined to get it right this time.

Well now, that was a delightful, sexy story. There is even a slight allusion to plot in there with all the p0rn.

I loved how the characters actually grew up and started taking responsibility for their own lives. And I loved these two men, Cameron and Noah. Perfect.

Best line?

"Okay then. But if either of you try to turn my sons into"—Adam paused, lips pursed in disgust—"Yankee fans, I'll kill you both."

Indeed.

I was NOT asked to read this book by anyone, I paid for it with my own money, as I do for all the books I read, all the music I listen to and the movies I watch.
loved Noah, and the book was incredibly hot. Cam was frustrating with how long it took for him to get with the program, but a really solid book. now off to get the rest of them.
Every now and then you come across an author who, after you read one book you become a "glommer", ie you have to read them all.
K.A.Mitchell is one of those.
Her books are a good balance of story and sex where the characters are rounded and their conflicts and motivations thoroughly believable.
I actually read the sequel to this first but it didn't spoil the story of Noah and Cam.
K.A.'s stories often span a fair length of time, so the characters have time to fall in love and have that relationship tested. In fact in many of her stories, the sex starts before the deeper emotional connection (which male authors often insist is the way it happens in real life).
Thoroughly recommended.

The first time, everyone remembers. There can only be one and I think this was what initially drew me into the story. The first time for Noah and Cam is so hot and real. And, it was not all candies, hearts and flowers. You could understand where Noah was at. That whole scary out of control feeling he has that comes with having sex and being that close to another person. He wants it so badly but he is nervous and does not want to give that away and scare Cam off. OH. So. Good!

Noah has always had a crush on Cam who is his older brothers best friend. He finally gets his wish during a family wedding. But Cam leaves the next day and it is not until years later that they meet again. The chemistry is still there and Noah is determined this time not to immediately fall to his knees in front of Cam in the first hour. He is kinda successful!! I loved how Noah still seems to retain this core of determination, he just loves Cam and always has. It appealed to my inner romantic geek. Not to say that he is a pushover because Cam totally needed a boot in the ass at times. But as a character he was very appealing.

The road to happiness does not always run smoothly for the boys though. There are the complications of family, friendships, distance and Cam’s fear of vulnerability. Cam was not always likable, due to his obtuseness but you felt for him. Maybe he needed soup?

This is the 2nd book of K. A. Michell’s that I’ve read and I liked it. A lot! It’s a hot, sexy read and well worth checking out. And, there’s swimming, you know… mens+swimsuits=merow. How could you not want to read it?

Cam loves his job and his footloose lifestyle. Noah had never forgotten his first crush on his big brother's best friend. When you find out Cam was also his first lover and he just walked out on the guy you start to think Noah should just forget him. Work brings them together and what follows is months of on and off again romance. Frankly, I was ready to smack both of them around. But it was fun to watch them finally get it together.
This is the first of three connected books and the last one I read. It's also the weakest of the bunch - but it's still a good book so I'm not really complaining. It has one of my favorite themes: falling for a best friend's sibling. Noah and Cameron make an appearance in Collision Course and the dynamic between Cameron and Aaron intrigued me, so I ended up reading this story last. Noah and Cameron grew up knowing each other, with Noah having a major crush on his brother's best friend. Cameron was interested, but Noah was younger and so didn't allow himself to go there...until Noah was older, and then only once. And they never saw each other again. Until Noah shows up in a recertification course Cameron is teaching. And Cameron finally show more gives into Noah and these two hook up whenever Cameron is in Noah's neck of woods. I liked Noah and Cameron and I liked their dynamic. A good start to these connected books. show less
