This book contains legends collected by Judge Arthur E. Griffin from Native Americans in Washington State from 1884 and 1947. The material has been completely rewritten by the grandson and great-grandson of the Judge to "make them more pleasant for children to read." BEWARE! Nuance, inuendo and subtleties in symbolism may well have been destroyed as the stories themselves have been made "White".
