"Demon's Fire" by Emma Holly is the third book in Ms. Holly's "Tales of the Demon World" series. This is the only book of the series that I have read. I can honestly say that I do not feel able to give this book my normal level of review but I can definately give my opinion.
Ms. Holly was not afraid to push the issues of sexual taboos in this book. If there is a sexual combination you have thought of you will find it in this book. Besides the fact that not two pages pass without some sort of sexual activity, Ms. Holly does her best to incorporate an actual plot line. While I found the plot a little far fetched, the overall effect was entertaining.
All that being said, if you are not comfortable with the "out there" notions of sexuality, show more do not read this book. Otherwise, if you have an open mind I believe you will find this book highly enjoyable. show less

At first, I was weary about this book; the relationship in the book is between two men and a women. Now, I'm used to reading more erotic type of romances, especially since I have read Emma Holly's books before, and I've come across threesomes many times, but very few times have I read a book where all three of them fall in love and stay together for more than just a night of really intense sex. Demon Fire fits into the latter category, with all three of them 'mating'.
Like all of her other books, Demon Fire is very sexy, very hot and steamy, and very, very explicit. It is not for the faint of heart. But if you like having a good dose of erotica in your romance, then her books, including Demon Fire, are for you. The one thing that I like show more about her books is that she can combine the romance and erotica together nicely, so that it does not read like a cheap and poorly written porno, like some erotica books I have read before.
I may not 'approve' of the threesome/polygamy theme going on in this book, that is, I would never do that myself, but for simply reading it for pleasure *no pun intended!!*, I can handle it when it it written nicely, such as Holly's books. It was not all about straight sex, but instead a combination of tender love, gut-wrenching feelings, paranormal, and, okay, a heavy dose of passionate, smokin' hot sex. If she had taken out one of those elements, the book would not have been as good as it was.
4.5/5 STARS! A perfect combination of hot sex, tender moments, passionate love, a unique paranormal setting, a touch of adventure/action/suspense, humor... Really, it has everything, and best of all, it's very well written. show less

This is the follow-up to "Prince of Ice" and "Demon's Daughter", and a fine offering it is! This author is constantly pushing the envelope and blurring the boundaries between fantasy, romance, and erotica. While gentler readers may be distressed by scenes of mild domination/submission and menage, those who like the spicier side of romance will cheer.
This demon world is a rich one and we finally get the story of Prince Pahndir who was held in a pleasure house in "Prince of Ice". He lost his mate when she committed suicide and his unseemly display of grief caused his family to abandon him and fake his death.
Beth and Charles have been friends since Charles was saved from the streets as a teenager. Beth's adventurous nature and unrequited show more love for Charles make her a truly engaging heroine. All three of these protagonists have issues to work through before they can face their futures. show less

Two Minute Review for “Demon’s Fire” by Emma Holly
You should know what you are getting into when you read Emma Holly’s books. Erotic is a tame word for her work. Be warned, this is NOT for the wimps who complain that there is too much sex in Laurell K Hamilton’s works. The story is set in Queen Victoria’s era, but in an alternate reality. Another race, the Yama, inhabit our world now. Beth and Charles are two humans who have loved each other for a long time but have not acted on it. Enter Pahndir, an exiled Yama who wants them both. I enjoy all of Ms. Holly’s work, including this one, but it is not her best work. She doesn’t seem as emotionally invested in these people. It isn’t as passionate emotionally. Other than show more that, the world she created is just as interesting as usual. She writes well and the action is fast. show less

Fantastic book. Best of the Demon World series so far. Good flow, interesting plot, highly arousing with extremely graphic love scenes (not for the faint of heart, this is an adult read-menage a trois scenario with m/m sex in the mix), nicely written characters.
VERY erotic
Once again, I loved it! Th
