This book contains a number of essays concerning the Third World circa 1988 or so. A point is made by one author and a counterpoint of that topic is made by another author. Fascinating and informative, this book would be great as a source for a research paper or a paper containing an opinion or something. I don't really pay attention to the news since it depresses me, but it would be quite interesting to read more things like this, with one point presented and a counterpoint given the same credence and weight.

This book gets you thinking about issues and topics, so it's really good. ( )
