Above average slasher/thriller. Nothing supernatural here. Costello does a nice job with a unique plot. Multiple strands coming together for a nice payoff. I thought he might do something REALLY unique but that didn't happen. Good nonetheless.
Characterization and plot are key in this type of story. We've got to identify with the characters in this type of novel. In addition everything needs to drive the plot forward. Costello controls both of these masterfully.
This isn't a literary masterpiece but a good story well told.
