Sometimes, novelization lets the writer take us places the movie was unable to show us, just due to different structures in story telling. Sometimes (like with Gremlins) a talented writer can create some new things whole cloth that flesh out the world. Sometimes, we get the same story, but retold in rich, lush language that changes the feel.
Have you seen the third part of the classic Omen movie series? Then you've read this book. Its not bad, its not good, just a really solid and direct novelization. If you can see the movie instead, you probably should, and I don't think there's much extra to be gleaned here. But its also not unpleasant and is competently written.

Epigraph
Thou hast conquered, O pale Galilean;
The world has grown grey from thy breath;
We have drunken of things Lethean,
And fed on the fullness of death.
Laurel is green for a season,
And love is sweet for a day;... (show all)>But love grows bitter with treason,
And laurel outlives not May.
Swinburne, Hymn to Prosperine
