The need for a crazy kind of faith runs like a current through the works of Laurie Colwin and the stories in this collection are no exception. These 14 stories, mostly set in Manhattan and its environs, portray characters negotiating the difficult shoals of love with varying degrees of success. Included are two stories which are the early version of what became Colwin's novel Happy all the time.
