Most of the information in this book is fine, factual, and accurate. But the tone bothers me. Bach has a tendency to play cheerleader while sounding somewhat condescending. Also, most of his books simply say the same things over and over, just targeting a slightly different audience. I wish he'd go practice what he preaches rather than simply writing another book that claims to be different.
DNF. Got about halfway through. I've heard a lot of this before, which is fine. The tone felt patronizing in places, and there was a lot of padding.
4 stars: Very good

I received this book in 2002 as part of a professional woman's group at my company. I recently did a reread as my financial situation changed and I wanted to confirm my strategy. I will be keeping this book to review as frequently as it makes sense.

What I like about this book is that it is written for the middle class, not for the upper class/ 1%. They regularly talk about paying yourself first (ie. savings, via 401K and other modalities). It is not about how to invest your extra $100,000. In particular, it works off small amounts of money--for example, the "latte a day". If you buy a latte a day, over the course of a year, that adds up to approximately a thousand dollars, more if its compounded over a year, 10 years, show more 20 years...

9 steps:

1) Learn the facts and myths about your money
2) Put you money where your values are
3) Figure out where you stand financially and where you want to go
4) Use the power of the latte' factor--how to create massive wealth on just a few dollars a week (a pet peeve of mine, the lattes...)
5) Practice Grandma's three basket approach to financial security
6) Learn the 10 biggest mistakes investors make and how to avoid them
7) Raising smart kids to finish rich
8) Follow the 12 commandmants of attracting greater wealth
9) Finish rich success stories-- be inspired

This is one of my favorite of David Bach's books, as it contained a good bit of financial information directed at women. Guess that's obvious from the title, but it was a good resource for me.
Not bad, had to translate form American but sensible and accessible.
